Fresh fish lunch

The fishing is getting good. From the first warm water in the spring through the fall the fishing is great on the McKenzie. We cooked these up for a fresh fish lunch.

It's wedding season

It's wedding season. That means that each weekend we get to watch angles like these, their brides, and families. This photo was taken during wedding practice on Friday night June 23rd. Congratulations Celine and Jeff!

Mist on the river

A few times a year the conditions are just right for us to get fog on the river. This is unusual for us so I thought I'd share it. We had a bit of sunshine and a bit of rain today and now, a little of both at the same time

Friends at Eagle Rock Lodge

This group of friends have been fishing each spring at Eagle Rock Lodge for more years than we have owned it. This year the weather was very good to them with bright warm days and a cool evening breeze.

Two week old goslings

It�s about two weeks since the goslings first showed up and these little guys have doubled in size. There are two bunches of four and one bunch of three and they are all returning each day. They have been spending a lot of time in the sprinklers on our lawn by the river. I�m not sure if there are more bugs there or if they are cooling off in the hot weather.

Dinner on the river

Fishing season is in full swing. Guides often use our riverside fire pit to fix lunch or dinner for guests. Spending the day on the river is always a fun experience with fishing, fire, and smoores. The end to a perfect evening is when you get to snuggle into a soft bed with poofy pillows. This is Debbie�s favorite kind of �camping�.

It must be spring

Four little goslings are following their mother across the river. Today is the first time these little guys arrived on our front lawn. It's fun to watch them grow up. I'll try to catch a photo of them again in a couple of weeks.

May Day 2006

Spring has arrived in the McKenzie River Valley. Our Rhodies are abundant and glorious this year. Soon the dogwood will blossom and the fragrant perennial gardens will bring forth their amazing beauty. There is nothing more beautiful than the Valley in the spring.
